Intensification of Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Reactions Without Efficiency Losses: The Importance of Surface Catalysis

چکیده

Abstract Advances in LED and photoreactor technology have brought semiconductor photocatalysis to the verge of feasibility industrial application for synthesis value-added chemicals. However, often observed efficiency losses under intensified illumination conditions still present a great challenge. This perspective discusses origin these what needs be done prevent or counteract it pave way efficient, heterogeneous photocatalytic processes. The role surface catalysis is particularly highlighted as one rate-limiting steps. Graphic

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Photocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Formaldehyde: Role of Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Reactions in Origin of Life Hypothesis

Photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide to formaldehyde was investigated on four semiconductor photocatalysts (FeS, FeS/FeS2, NiO and TiO2). The reaction was carried out in continues flow of CO2 gas bubbled into the reactor. Semiconductor photocatalysts were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopic (DRS) methods. Sulfide ion was used as hole scavenger. T...

Heterogeneous Catalysis for Tandem Reactions

As long as the molecular complexity increases, the number of chemical transformations will increase in parallel, becoming a highly demanding synthetic process in terms of time and resources. Since the loss of material after each purification step will also dramatically reduce the overall efficiency of a synthetic process, the conversion of such transformation into a practical and efficient proc...
